Who We Are & What We Do

The Multi-Culture & Folk Arts Association of Canada was established on August 1^st., 2006. It is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization. All of the executive members are volunteers.

MCFAAC has been in existence for about two years, however it has organized few cultural activities for the communities in Toronto includes Asia New Year 2008 performance to help new immigrants integrate into Canadian society and to enrich their social lives.

MCFAAC has Waist Drum Group, Fan Drum Group, Girl’s Band, Dance Group & Sing Group, etc. performance groups. Most of our members have highly educated professionals in various fields. The MCFAAC provides the occasions for all different background’s artists.

Our group has been invited to perform at a variety of events such as Christmas and New Year’s celebration, Dragon Festival, Lantern Festival, International Drum Festival, Canada Day celebration, China National Day celebration, Asian Heritage Month, CNE Multi-Culture Festival and many fundraising performances. Our Fan Drum group is the first Fan Drum group in Toronto. The group’s Chinese style and authentic performances have won widespread acclaim. Our organization aims to contribute to Canadian multiculturalism and the promotion of Chinese culture and arts.

加拿大多元文化民间艺术协会是一个在加拿大注册之非盈利、不涉及政治、宗教及族裔纷争的团体，协会宗旨是宣传、普及、宏扬中华文化，与加拿大各族裔的文化团体交流、切磋，为加中文化交流作贡献。

我会设有腰鼓队、太平鼓队、女子中西乐队、舞蹈团和歌唱组，经常活跃在主流社会和华人社区的很多活动中，我们曾参加圣诞、春节、亚裔文化月、龙舟节、彩灯节、国际鼓节、“七一”加拿大国庆、“十一”中国国庆、CNE多元文化节、振灾义演和多项筹款晚会的演出、游行，属下的太平鼓队是多伦多的第一支太平鼓队。

本协会在参加演出活动之外，也积极参与其它社会活动，如十一国庆升旗议式、抗雪救灾义演、支持维护和平集会、演出团体访加演出的接待、推票、等等。

我会还将举办摄影展、各类学艺班及讲座，普及、教学中华文化，让更多的人了解、喜爱中华文化，将中西文化融合在一起。
